American Winter 2011

In looking back on 2007, we locate America silent in want of rejuvenation.  The lines that divide us ethnically and racially are still very obviously drawn.  2007 has charged us all to identify the prejudices and inequalities that still grip this nation.  Never one to shy away from material to make us think, Brian Wood creates his 'We Shall surmount collection.  Finding inspiration in the civil rights movement of the 1960s, Brian Woods 2008 Collection asks us to question how far we've come and how much further we need to go.
The fabrics are avant-garde and sought-after: woolrich 100%, Melton wool and 100% wool herringbone, 100% cotton canvas, patent leather, black athletic mesh, and nylon.
The color palette is dark,   Black, Charcoal, Midnight are the dominants colors.
There are many collection notes for a very interesting: Wool Herringbone jacket with Patent leather elbow patch combo, quilted shoulders, raw edge detailing at front and back yokes, and athletic mesh lining.
Nylon tuxedo blazer with cotton velvet lapel and necklace, athletic mesh lining, and snap front.
A cotton canvas symmetrical biker jacket with gun flap front, patent leather piping, and satin quilted lining.
A reversible cotton canvas quilted vest. Reverse side is wool herringbone with 2x1 wool blend rib knit facings around armholes and collar.
100% Melton Wool jacket with leather combo elbow patches and pocket dapper zip face mask, storm cuffs, and athletic mesh lining.
Grey plaid wool overcoat with 2 way front, 2 front button yokes, faux belt loops, and nimble mesh lining.
