NETS FIRE AVERY JOHNSON

Not Smiling Today
The Brooklyn Nets have fired head coach Avery Johnson after starting the season with a 14-14 record.  Johnson was in the final year of his contract so the financial obligation for the Nets was not unreasonable to let him go. Assistant coach P.J. Carlesimo will take over coaching duties in the meantime.

Johnson was the Coach of the Month for November after an 11-4 start, but the Nets have faltered since, especially in losing embarrassingly on national television on Christmas Day to the Boston Celtics,

I believe this mainly had to do with the clashing of Johnson's system to the skill set of franchise player Deron Williams.  More to come.....
